This is gorgeous, I think they would also look really nice for a 'white christmas' type of decoration, not just a wedding... will definitely be going in my 'to-do' pile, thanks!

We collected A TON of beads. I've only made two wreaths so far and I used about seven to nine strands of beads on each wreath. I'm planning on making about ten of these wreaths. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

I live in Calif and I only attended one Mardi Gras party. The hostess was giving away all types of beads but I made sure to collect as many as I can to make this project. How many wreaths were made? How many beads were collected? Thanks :)

I did what you suggested when I went to Marti Gra...I got three bags of beads thrown at me. The best part - the sign worked and I didn't have to pull my shirt up!

Guys- This actually was fun to make. I started on the wreath and randomly put large, medium and small beads where ever they looked good. April took over and finished it in no time.

Ladies- get your friends and fiancee involved. You will have a great time!

Guys- This actually turned out pretty well. I was able just to sit there while April was gluing and I just watched TV while she was doing her thing. All I had to do was cut up the beads and she really was impressed that I was helping...

FYI- My sister didn't "earn" the beads... she knew someone in New Orleans who participated in the parades and had him set aside some extra white and cream beads for us. If you attend Mardi Gras, they throw beads at you at every parade (free). For those that don't have a connection, I would just make a sign that says "collecting white beads for my wedding" and the guys on the floats will throw you more than you can handle....
