Supplies: Martha Stewart Template, Double Sided Crepe Paper, 6 Fabric-Covered Floral Wires, Floral Tape, White Craft Glue, Scissors, Stapler
Step 1: Enlarge the Martha Stewart template by 200% (I took the printed template to Office Max and they enlarged it for less than a dollar.)
Step 2: Use the template to trace and cut 15 large, hearts-shaped petals, 5 small teardrop petals, three leaf shapes, and one calyx shape from the crepe paper. (I stacked 3 pieces of crepe paper on top of each other and stapled the template to the crepe paper before cutting it out.) I ordered the crepe paper online from D. Blumchen & Company because I couldn’t find it in any craft stores in my area.
Step 3: Shape the heart-shaped and teardrop petals by cupping them in the middle and pulling gently out toward the sides. Take a pencil or pen and curl the edges.
Step 4: Make the stem by wrapping three paper-covered floral wires together with floral tape.
Step 5: Make the bud by wrapping the teardrop petals around the stem. Secure those petals by wrapping the bottom with floral tape.
Step 6: Wrap the heart-shaped petals around the bud and secure with floral tape.
Step 7: Wrap the calyx shape around the base of the petals and secure with floral tape. Glue in place.
Step 8: Draw a line of glue down the center of each leaf and place a fabric-covered floral wire down on the glue. Pinch the crepe paper together over the wire to create the vein.
Step 9: Combine the three leaves together by wrapping the stems in floral tape.
Step 10: Attach the leaves to the rose by wrapping them together with floral tape.
Step 11: Wrap the entire stem with strips of crepe paper to cover the floral tape, and glue in place.

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I love your nail polish…it makes your hands “so cute” in the pictures. What color polish are you wearing?

The template you posted up for the paper rose – Is this already enlarged to 200%?
