Tip of the Day – Planning Your Ceremony

I was taken aback when our pastor told us that he was happy and inspired by how much time and effort we put into planning our ceremony. My husband and I wanted to make sure that the ceremony represented our love and the combining of our families and spent a lot of time focusing on what readings we wanted, family members we wanted acknowledged, and how we wanted to the ceremony to proceed.

Unfortunately, it’s incredibly easy to get caught up in planning the “party” part of the wedding and forget about the real reason you’re getting married. The ceremony should get just as much attention as the reception. When a couple first starts planning their ceremony they have to consider the type of ceremony and officiant they want – which are actually pretty big decisions. Are you going to combine religions, focus on one religion, or have a civil ceremony?

November’s tips of the day will focus on planning your ceremony, so if you haven’t figured this part out, then check back each day for tips and advice and you’ll have your ceremony planned in no time.
