Tip of the Day – Wood Guest Books

For this month’s last tip of the day {which means the last tip of the day regarding guest books}, I wanted to share something extra special, so I went to one of my go-to places to find amazing, handcrafted items – Etsy. I found this seller, Crearting Shop, and fell in love with the products. Oh my gosh, if you’re having a rustic, romantic wedding, you need one of these handmade journals as your guest book. I’m seriously swooning over these!

Instead of me sharing another tip related to guest books, I thought I would tap into your knowledge. So readers – help me out here. Do you have any creative guest book ideas? What are you planning to do for your guest book? How does your guest book relate to your theme or reception?

I’m looking forward to reading your feedback. Thanks in advance for participating!

Tip of the Day – Guest Book Pictures

I recently received an email from a reader wondering how she could use pictures of her guests with her and her future husband in her guest book if she’s not going to have a photo booth or polaroid camera at the wedding reception. This really got me thinking. It would take some extra planning, but it could definitely be accomplished. You could include a little note in the invitation asking guests to send a picture with you, your fiance, or both with their RSVP. Then glue the pictures into a guest book, and at the wedding reception, encourage guests to find their picture and write about the picture or write about their favorite experience with you.

Tip of the Day – Fun, Interactive Guest Book

I recently saw a guest book idea on the knot that made me giggle and I knew I would have to share it. One couple decided to have their guests pick their favorite sock monkey out of a book and sign their name next to it. How cute is that? You could do something similar but make it more personal by relating it to your hobbies and likes. For instance, you could purchase a coffee table book containing pictures of wineries {if you enjoy wine} and have your guests sign next to their favorite. This idea is fun and interactive for guests and will definitely leave a good impression on them. You won’t have to force your guests to sign your guest book, because they’ll all be lining up to do it!

Tip of the Day – Guest Book Heirloom

You might not be considering 10, 20, or 50 years from now when you’re choosing a guest book, but you should. Some couples include A LOT more pages in their guest book than they’ll need at their wedding, so they can use it as a guest book at anniversary parties or vow renewals. If you want to use your guest book over and over, make sure you’ll have enough room to do so.

Tip of the Day – Make Your Own Guest Book

Make your guest book more personal by putting personal items on every other page and have guests sign on the opposite page. For instance, you could include letters that you’ve written each other, cards, movie tickets of movies you’ve gone to together, take-out menus from your favorite restaurants, engagement pictures, pictures of the two of you when you were kids, and words to your “first dance” song. Get creative. Your guests will have a blast looking through your guest book.

Tip of the Day – Branch Guest Book

Put together your own small “tree” with willow brances or manzanita branches. Supply guests with tags adorned with ribbon to write their well wishes and hang on the tree.

Tip of the Day – Polaroids

Ask one of your bridesmaids to go around during the first hour of the reception and take pictures of guests with a Polaroid camera. Have her give the photos out after taking them and ask the guests to go put them in the scrapbook guest book and sign next to their picture.

Tip of the Day – Scrolls for a Guest Book

Place sheets of decorative paper on your guest book table with a note to guests instructing them to write well wishes to the bride and groom, role up the paper and seal it with a sticker. Then have the guests place them in basket on the table. Have one sitting in the basket already rolled up to show guests what you mean. The couple could open up a handful of scrolls every anniversary.

Tip of the Day – Birdcage Guest Book

If you’re having a whimsical, romantic wedding, consider having your guests write you well wishes and place them in a birdcage. You can find inexpensive birdcages at discount stores like T.J. Maxx or flea markets.

Tip of the Day – Chalkboard Guest Book

If you’re having a casual wedding reception, consider using this couple’s idea and having a chalkboard for the guest book. The only thing you should consider is that this is probably not the best option if you want something that’s permanent; however, you can get semi-permanent chalkboard pens that will make it last a lot longer.

Tip of the Day – Photo Booth Guest Book

Having a photo booth at your wedding? Consider having your wedding guests put their pictures into a photo album from the photo booth and write a little something next to their pictures.
