Real Wedding – Adrianne and Shaler

Today’s real wedding was inspiring to me, because the bride took time to add DIY touches to her wedding. I absolutely love the DIY wedding invitation. The photography captured my eye as soon as I clicked on to Kim’s blog, and I knew that I had to share her work with you. I hope you enjoy this week’s real wedding!

Generously, Kim answered a few questions, so we could get to know her a little better. I love her positive attitude….

When did you shoot your first wedding?  I became very interested in wedding photography in 2006 when many of my friends were getting married.  At the same time, I was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with my career path, so it was the perfect opportunity to change careers.  I was fortunate enough to tag along and shoot with a very generous and fabulous photographer starting in December 2006, and I shot my first full wedding in March 2008.

How many weddings do you shoot a year?  I just relocated my business from Texas to Florida so we are in a little transition phase.  I have 7 weddings scheduled so far for 2009.

What does a typical package include and cost?  My middle package is $1800 and includes 8 hours of wedding day coverage, two photographers, online viewing for family and friends, an engagement or bridal session, 4×6 prints of every image, and a print credit.

Can you tell me about one of your favorite wedding locations to shoot?  I don’t really have a favorite yet because I have enjoyed all of the locations my couples have chosen.  As long as everyone is having a good time, then I’m happy.

I want to give a huge thanks to Adrianne and Shaler for sharing their special day with us and to Kim Chau Photography for the stunning photographs. Please share more weddings with us in the future! If you’re having your wedding in Central Florida, you should consider contacting Kim about wedding photography. See more of Kim’s great work at her blog and website.

Real Wedding – Jessica and Brent

I feel like such a lucky girl. I get to chat with incredibly talented wedding photographers and feature their beautiful pictures on my blog. Today’s wedding is another perfect example of ultra-amazing wedding photos….thanks to Ben Sasso Photography. Plus the couple is absolutely adorable. Don’t you think?

I’m really thankful that Ben took the time to answer a few questions, so we could get to know him a little better. I love his goal as a photographer!

When did you shoot your first engagement session or wedding?

I shot my first wedding back in August of 2008

How many engagement sessions and weddings do you shoot a year?

This past year I shot almost 20 weddings and I have another 20 already booked for this upcoming year.

What does a typical package include and cost?

I offer four different packages ranging from $1,500 to $2,800. The most inexpensive package includes 5 hours of coverage and a CD of the edited and retouched images while the highe r end packages include full days of coverage, prints, hardcover books, leather albums, canvas wraps and online galleries.

Can you tell me about one of your favorite wedding locations to shoot?

My favorite location to shoot is a small little lake area called Paradise Cove. Everything is super close and intimate but still offers a good variety of settings.

What is your goal as a photographer?

Eventually I want to be a photographer who nonprofit organizations can count on to travel to where they need me in order to give their organization the images they need to bring powerful and attractive images to their branding. This is something I am always working towards because I am a strong believer in using the gifts and talents you have to help others.

I want to give a big thanks to Jessica and Brent for letting us share in their special day and to Ben Sasso Photography for the beautiful pictures. Check out his blog and website to see more of his creative photography.

Real Wedding – Heather and Josh

Today’s wedding is simply beautiful. April and Lindsey, the two creative photographers behind Sweet Monday Photography, did a wonderful job capturing this delightful event.

What to know more about these photographers?

A little about the two of us…we’ve been best friends since we were 12 years old and our background is originally in motion picture filmmaking, which is what brought us to the Los Angeles area. However, after working awhile in the film industry (and hating it! People, politics, etc.) we realized the importance of doing something you love and that you feel is worthwhile. We absolutely love weddings and we love capturing and preserving the memories from one of the most important days in a person’s life!

We shot our first wedding in November 2004 and shoot about 20-25 weddings a year. Our prices start at $3200 for basic coverage and our Collections start at $3500. All of our Collections include two photographers, a complimentary engagement session with an online gallery, 4×6 printed wedding proofs, an online gallery of wedding images and digital negatives of the wedding images on DVD.

Our most popular Collection is our Tulip Collection which includes 2 photographers for 7 hours on the wedding day, 4×6 printed wedding proofs, online viewing & purchasing galleries, a complimentary engagement session, our 15 spread Tulip Album and digital wedding negatives. Our Tulip Collection costs $4200.

As far as locations, we absolutely love going to new places. Lots of times we would rather go someplace new than back to a location we’ve been before! Keeps us on our toes. :) However, a couple of faves are Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado because it has so many different locations within just the one location…an orange grove, woods, a red London-style phone booth, tree swing, etc. We also love Rancho del Cielo in Malibu for its amazing views. And we love the Marvimon House in Downtown LA for a more urban look.

I want to give a big thank you to Heather and Josh for sharing their charming day with us and to Sweet Monday Photography for the stunning pictures. Please share more with us in the future. Check out their blog and website for more inspiring photography.

Real Wedding – Michelle and Tommy

I’m completely in love with these wedding pictures from Leslie Roark Photography. This intimate wedding took place on Navarre Beach. Leslie serves the Pensacola and Destin, Florida areas, but she also travels for destination weddings.

Learn from Kate and Jake: The bridesmaids wore long, toffee colored dresses designed by Jim Hjelm. The stylish programs tied with satin ribbon were small enough for guests to put them in their pockets and purses. The doors to the church were decorated with wreaths filled with roses and hydrangeas. The couple sent their guests home with cheese pastries from the bride’s favorite bakery in Dallas.
