Luckily, Sharon was gracious enough to answer a few questions, so we could get to know her better:

When did you shoot your first wedding?

This is my 3rd year of shootings weddings on my own. I started shooting weddings in 2004 as a second shooter.

How many weddings do you shoot a year?

 I shoot about 10-15 weddings a year.

What does a typical package include and cost?

My average price is $2500. Most of packages include two photographers, a complimentary engagement session with an online gallery, an online gallery of wedding images, 4×6 printed wedding proofs, and digital negatives of the wedding images on DVD.

Can you tell me about one of your favorite wedding locations to shoot?

I love all of my brides (and grooms but it does seem like the girls are doing more of the organizing. nothin’ wrong with that.) I get some super fun creative girls! They pick fun locations and want to have a good time! I have 2 brides this summer that are making their own dresses and I’m so excited.

I just shot a wedding that had brunch instead of dinner and that was great! The natural light at the location was beautiful the whole time.

I have been encouraging my couples to do fun engagement sessions so we get to know each other a little more and they have an idea of my shooting style. I want to feel like we’re friends, not just clients.

I want to give a big thanks to Autumn and Tyson for sharing their big day with us and to Sharon of SV Photography for sharing these beautiful pictures. Check out her website and blog to see more of her photography.

Victor was kind enough to answer a few questions, so we could get to know him better.

When did you shoot your first wedding?

I shot my first California wedding in March of 2004.

How many weddings do you shoot a year?

Typically 30-35 now. More when I first started…

Can you tell me about one of your favorite wedding locations to shoot?

 Pelican Hill, Newport Coast, CA

Everything about the resort is phenomenal; architecture, scenery, and service. They only do one wedding per day. The wedding ceremony location and ballroom are very separated from hotel traffic so it’s private and intimate. They also have one of the best vendor meals in Southern California!

I want to give huge thanks to the lovely couple for sharing their big day with us and to VCS Photography for sharing these gorgeous pictures with us. Check out his website and blog to see more of his photography.

Learn from Sara and Charles: Stick to one theme throughout the invitations, programs, escort cards, favors, and gift bags. Sara and Charles incorporated their silouettes throughout their wedding which tied everything together. Have the groosmen wear bright colored ties that add to the color palette of the wedding like Sara and Charles did by having the groosmen wear orange ties to match the citrus theme. Skip the wedding cake and serve the guests individual, homemade bundt cakes with a scoop of ice cream.

Tip of the Day – Spring Weddings

If you want to have a formal wedding in the spring, a great color combination is lavender and eggplant.

Tip of the Day – Spring Weddings

Give bunches of flowers as wedding favors. Use them to decorate the reception site and place a card in front of them at the end of the night inviting guests to take a bunch home.
